10 Things to Do in Duluth When the Leaves Change 🍂

Fall in Duluth is one of our favorite times of year. The crisp air, colorful trees, and Lake Superior views make it the perfect season to get outside and enjoy everything our area has to offer.

If you're looking for ways to enjoy the season, here are 10 things to add to your fall bucket list:

1. Take a Drive Along Skyline Parkway

Enjoy sweeping views of Duluth, the St. Louis River, and colorful fall trees along one of the city's most scenic routes.

2. Hike at Enger Park

Take a walk through the trails, enjoy the fall colors, and stop at Enger Tower for some beautiful views.

3. Explore Lester Park

Grab a coffee and spend an afternoon walking the trails along the Lester River. It's especially beautiful when the leaves are changing.

4. Visit Hawk Ridge

Fall migration is an incredible time to visit Hawk Ridge and watch birds of prey making their way south.

5. Take a North Shore Day Trip

Head north along Highway 61 and enjoy the changing scenery, Lake Superior views, and one of the most beautiful drives in Minnesota.

6. Walk Along Canal Park

Bundle up, grab a coffee or treat, and take in the lake views. Fall is a quieter and especially beautiful time to explore the waterfront.

7. Explore Hartley Nature Center

With miles of trails through the woods, Hartley is a great place for a fall hike without leaving the city.

8. Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch or Fall Festival

Make a family day of it with pumpkins, apple cider, hayrides, and other seasonal activities around the Duluth area.

9. Grab a Cozy Drink from a Local Coffee Shop

Find your favorite seasonal latte and spend an afternoon exploring one of Duluth's unique neighborhoods and local shops.

10. Find Your Favorite Fall View

Sometimes the best fall activity is simply getting outside. Take a drive, walk a neighborhood trail, or find a spot overlooking Lake Superior and enjoy the colors.

Fall Is One of the Best Times to Explore Duluth

One of the things we love about living in Duluth is that you don't have to go far to enjoy the outdoors. From hiking trails and scenic overlooks to Lake Superior and the North Shore, there's always something to explore.

And if you're considering making Duluth home, fall is a great time to get out and experience the different neighborhoods for yourself.
